My Gringo Ticos: Matthew´s First Tooth (and Second too)!

Matthew´s first tooth came out on February 5 after being lose for A WHILE. He said it hurt too much to pull it out or "work" on it to get it looser so it took a couple of weeks. His new tooth was even growing in behind it and the dentist said it really needed to come out sooner than later to give space to that other one. Finally on the 5th, he said he was going to try and pull it a little but he couldn´t because it was slippery so I gave him a napkin and he just pulled it right out! He had a shocked and surprised look on his face with his eyes really WIDE! Then he hated the taste of blood so we had to get him some juice pretty quick. He was so excited but wasn´t sure he wanted to part with the tooth yet so he didn´t put it under his pillow the first night. He waited until the second night and he got almost $4!!! That was a nice tooth fairy! That seems to be the going rate these days. He thinks he might get more for the molars but we´ll see!!

His second one was loose around the time that the first one was but a lot less so. He wasn´t working on that one either but the other night, his first day of first grade, February 16th, he was laying down to sleep and for some reason wiped his mouth with his arm and it basically just fell out right there in the dark in the bed while I was waiting on him to doze off. I didn´t even believe him because he´s been tricking me sometimes and saying things that aren´t completely true, but joking....not lying of course, hahaha. I told him I didn´t believe him and he said, "it´s true, turn on the light and see!" So, of course we had to get that under the pillow right away. Not so attached to those teeth anymore I guess.

His first two teeth missing were both on significant dates which were February 5th, when his new little cousin, Isabela, Sara´s daughter was born and the second one on the first day of first grade! Won´t forget those first two that´s for sure!!!
