Julian started in the "Babies" group at Matthew's pre-K on February 17th. He was supposed to start on February 13th but he was sick for his first two days! With those two days, plus the weekend, he was well enough to start on Monday. He was in good spirits getting his uniform on, getting there and dropping off Matthew in his room. As we walked to his room, I realized he might be getting a little nervous about what was coming next. I think he was shocked when Dani passed him over the gate to the teacher and we said "bye!". He started reaching out and screaming pretty loud. We had to just walk away because the longer we stayed there the harder it would be for all of us.
When we picked him up, they had said he cried off and on during the four hours. The next day, he cried as well but were told he didn't cry after the initial dropoff and the day after that, the initial cry was shorter. The fourth day, he just made a sad face but no crying and the fifth day it was more of a disappointed face rather than so sad. I would say it was a successful first week! In general he's quite happy to go to school every day and he always gets a sticker on his shirt for good behavior. He says they dance, paint, sing, play on the playground, etc. He seems to really like it. He even wants to go back to school as soon as we get home. So cute. He has a great teacher named Natalia and she is fun, animated and has lots of energy. We've known her for a couple of years because sometimes she would do the arts and crafts afternoon activities with Matthew's group last year.
